Goodbye Kansas nominated for Lovie Award
Goodbye Kansas Studios has been named a Finalist for “Best Use of Animation & Motion Graphics: Advertising” in The 10th Annual Lovie Awards for their work on Volvo: The E.V.A. Initiative.
Directed by renowned Swedish director Laerke Herthoni, the commercial Volvo: The E.V.A. Initiative highlights the fact that the car industry historically has based its safety research on male crash tests dummies. Volvo has now released more than 40 years of their own comprehensive safety research to the entire auto industry – to make cars safer for everyone; not just the average male.
Goodbye Kansas married Herthoni’s creative vision with the skills of its Motion Capture team in Uppsala and digital artists in Stockholm to produce a powerful and captivating piece of work – a car commercial without a single car in it. You can watch it for yourself here.
“Goodbye Kansas has excelled in its category, showing fantastic prowess in digital innovation and creativity,” said Nicolas Roope, Executive Chair of IADAS. “This award is a testament to the skill, ingenuity and vision of its creators.”
The Lovie Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the most prestigious honour in Europe for excellence across websites, online advertising, internet video, mobile sites, apps & podcasts and social. As a Finalist, Goodbye Kansas Studios is eligible to win a People’s Lovie Award, which is voted online by fans across the globe. From now through 29 October, the public can cast votes at vote.lovieawards.eu and all winners will be honoured at a special virtual celebration on 19 November 2020.
