Dragon Age
“The Breach” – launch trailer for Dragon Age Inquisition.
The trailer was part of the promotion of the award winning Dragon Age Inquisition game from Draft FCB/EA/BioWare. Working closely with BioWare we got to learn about the different characters and how to portray them as unique individuals. We went on to bring demons and dragons to life combating the nine heroes and the Inquisitor, their leader. Teaming up with our talented Mo-Cap colleagues in Uppsala we hired Sweden’s best stunt team to co-ordinate and help choreograph the best possible action, spending a total of five days in the Mo-Cap studio. The flythroughs were created by Digital Domain. By combining the awesome fight scenes with magic and “real” cameras, we wanted to excite and captivate fans and newcomers by bringing the champions of the game to life in a high-impact, highly-detailed cinematic.
Dragon Age – background
A cataclysmic event plunges the land of Thedas into turmoil. Dragons darken the sky casting a shadow over lands on the brink of chaos. Mages break into all-out war against the oppressive templars. Nations rise against one another. Together with your allies your mission as a player is to restore order, lead the Inquisition and hunt down the agents of chaos.
Warric Tethras
Varric Tethras is one part adventurous rogue, one part dashing storyteller, and three parts trouble. Born on the surface, Varric has little love for his underground brethren – all his contacts lie with the dwarves of the Merchants Guild though he has little taste for their schemes. Still he has found a place as an outsider rubbing shoulders with both the wealthy elite as well as the worst of scoundrels. He loves being a storyteller. In fact, that’s all he truly cares about. However, persons that truly know him do not agree. They say that Varric has been drawn more and more into conflicts that shake the world – conflicts that he can’t get himself out of just by telling a tale.
The Iron Bull
Qunari are known across Thedas as the brutal horned giants that descended from the north, and nearly conquered the continent. These ruthless followers of a harsh philosophy enforce their will through the Ben-Hassrath – their spies and secret police. One brilliant agent hunted spies, rebels and deserters until the day he finally broke. To preserve this valuable asset his superiors sent him to Orlais to observe and report – and The Iron Bull was born. Today Bull’s Chargers are famous mercenaries fiercely loyal to the huge Qunari warrior who leads them into battles and taverns with equal enthusiasm. The Iron Bull still sends the Ben-Hassrath reports, but living outside the rule of the Qunari for so many years he is now unsure of himself and his own identity. Whoever he may be, he’s more than happy to join the Inquisition and get paid to kill demons.
Vivienne
Referred to as Madame de Fer “the Lady of Iron”, Vivienne lives up to her title. A leader among the Mages and official enchanter to the Imperial court she is renowned as a fearsome woman who achieved her position through guile and deft political maneuvering. Vivienne allows nothing to stand in the way of what she desires – not those who claim she is a social climber not those who seek to restrict her power not even her fellow Mages who would conscript her into a rebellion with which she disagrees. Vivienne fights to restore order in a world gone mad, as long as that leaves her among those left standing to the bitter end.
